Join Us on the Sharp End of Adventure

At Crux Expeditions, we bring people together for journeys that push limits and create stories worth telling. From Himalayan summits to desert crossings, Arctic ski tours to jungle treks — our expeditions demand expertise, resilience, and leadership.

We also carry forward our roots in Crux Outdoors, where we deliver risk management, safety systems, and operational support for adventure travel, expeditions, and film & TV productions in some of the world’s most demanding environments.

Working with us means operating at the point where precision planning meets real-world delivery. If you have the skills, experience, and mindset to thrive in extreme environments — and to help others do the same — we’d love to hear from you.

  • Coordinate with in-country agents, guides, and fixers to ensure smooth logistics

  • Manage incidents, including medical emergencies, with composure and competence

  • Complete post-expedition reporting for debrief and quality improvement

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum Summer Mountain Leader (ML) qualification

  • Substantial proven experience leading multi-day expeditions in challenging terrain, both in the UK and overseas

  • Demonstrated ability to work in remote, culturally diverse, and high-pressure environments

  • Strong budget management and logistical planning skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities

  • UK-based with valid passport and ability to travel internationally

Desirable Experience

  • International Mountain Leader (IML) or Winter ML

  • Prior work on youth expeditions, charity challenges, or specialist adventure travel programmes

  • High-altitude trekking or mountaineering experience above 4,000m

  • Technical skills in rope systems, glacier travel, or water-based expeditions

  • Language skills relevant to expedition destinations

  • Background in safety consultancy, risk management, or operational leadership

What We Offer

  • Opportunities to lead high-quality, small-group expeditions worldwide

  • Competitive pay and prompt expense settlement

  • Pre-expedition training weekends with your client group

  • Support from a professional HQ team for planning and logistics

  • A strong safety culture backed by extensive operational experience
